Durham Region Rebates Make Solar Installation More Affordable!
If your home is connected to the grid, you can take advantage of rebates available to homeowners in Durham Region with a minimum $30,000 cost of the project. By installing a solar system that offsets at least 50% of your annual energy consumption, you may qualify for substantial municipal rebates, as well as financing options through Durham Region Loans and Canada Loans.
Homeowners in the Town of Whitby can receive an additional rebate matching the amount granted by Durham Region.
Furthermore, if you completed your Energy Audit on or before February 5, 2024, you may be eligible for up to $5,600 in additional incentives, which can be combined with the rebates from Durham Region.

Durham Region Residents:
You can receive a rebate of $2,500 to $5,000 for achieving a 50% or greater reduction in energy use. This incentive increases by $50 for every additional 1% of energy reduction beyond 50%.
Town of Whitby Residents:
The Town of Whitby will match Durham Region’s rebate, allowing you to receive up to $10,000 in total incentives.
How to Qualify:
To qualify for both rebates and loan, all you need is to book for Energy Audit. However, if you have completed an Energy Audit under Canada Greener Homes Grant program, you do not need to have another pre energy audit.
